January 11th 2010:

At the top of the list today lets all wish my mom a happy birthday… say it with me… HAPPY BIRTHDAY (ANDREWS) MOM!!!

Call me a bad son, but I’m not really sure how old she is, lets say she’s pushing 60, that should be a safe bet. Whatever the age I think we can agree that she’s old.

Lettering on this page is really small, especially on the first panel. Sorry about that. It was a bit of miscalculation on my part. However, I feel that because I can read it, so can you. You just need to get really close to your screen.

January 4th 2010:  A few things; the link up top on the right hand side takes you to topwebcomics.com so that you can vote for Slice, but it sort of “starts over” every month, so go ahead and make a habit of voting every day. Also, I had forgotten about this, but starting with this page Kevin (my editor) has no idea what is going top happen. For some reason I wanted him to have a chance to see what was going to happen in the last pages of the minis-series the way you guys see it… fresh and new. He has no idea what the story is for the next few pages. My point being that there is bound to be spelling issues with me at the helm, so feel free to point them out.

later,

Andrew

My good friend Vern Wight has been teasing me for the better part of two months about the Christmas gift he was “making” me. I was truly curious as to what this could be. Vern is known for being a pretty handy guy. Knows his way around the old tool box if you will. So when he said he was making me something, my imagination was all over the place. I had all kinds of ideas running around in my head, but not once did I think of what he gave me. Vern spent a lot of time and effort and remodeled an Iron Man (of Marvel fame) and turned him into Slice. Absolutly amazing. Thank you Vern.

Here we are, another year has passed and what a year it has been. I Slice was only a few weeks into its run when this year started and look at it now. Issue four is almost in the can and the regular series is coming along great.

I have made some connections with new people and we are in hopes of getting something great out to the public as soon as we can.

My wife and I had our first child this year and he is doing great. Friends of mine have started new paths in their lives with school and work. It’s been a great year.

All things considered everything is turning up roses… except for sleep. I really could use more of that.

I do want to thank everyone who has come to Slice this year and hung around. You’re a quiet bunch of people but I know you’re there, so thank you.

I hope everyone had a great year, or at the very least a tolerable one. Nothing sucks more then looking back on a year and realizing you havent done shit.

so feel free to comment and tell us how your year has gone and/or any desires you have for the new year.

Andrew

Thank you Andrew, for the birthday acknowledgement. So, you don’t know how old your mom is. Well, knowing how well you are at math, taking after me in that, haha, I was born in 1954. What does that make me , quick Andrew. …. 56, four yrs until the big 60th surprise party you and your brother are planning already. Again, haha. thank you for remembering, love mom,ps as always, wonderful work!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY (ANDREWS) MOM!!!

It’s kind of a cool coincidence, Slice talking about his age, your mom talking about her age. Add in that they’re both hard drinking fighters of crime and badness that wear skintight green suits, kinda makes me think Andrew is drawing from his real life for Slice of Fate.

Thx all for the congrats to my mom on her 66th (teehee).
And you’re right Scott, that is a weird coincidence about the age thing. You would think I did it on purpose.

And lest I forget, the color on this page rocks. Now don’t go telling me your mom is in color too. I’m from ‘64 and am only in 16 bit.

My mom is in color, though sometimes I think she would be more suited to be black and white.

Well at least you didn’t say sepia, then you’re really be in trouble.
